Tarot Reading
a held space for insight and change

This isn't fortune-telling — it's a space held by a spiritual practitioner with over thirty years of lived practice. You bring whatever's on your mind; Will lays the cards and reads them with you, translating the deep symbology of the Thoth Tarot — his deck for over twenty years — into plain language that speaks to your actual life. Alongside the cards, his strong intuitive abilities shape the reading as it unfolds, and where the reading points to something you can act on, a prescription can follow: a concrete practice or piece of work to take away. With training in counselling skills and a background in psychology, shamanism and the occult, Will has done the deep work himself — you'll be in safe, supportive hands.

Testimonials

"Will is a fantastic reader. His reading was potent, succinct and totally on point. I came away with areas to explore and felt understood and deeply seen. His intuitive hits left me amazed."

"Will is a very skilled tarot reader. His deep knowledge of the cards, built over decades, makes for the most penetrating and revealing readings I have ever had. He tells it how it is — if there is difficulty in the situation, he gives you that information undiluted, which allows you to take appropriate action. His trusted deck is the beautiful and celebrated Thoth Tarot, which pulls no punches. As the cards' translator and interpreter, you will be hard-pressed to find a more capable diviner."

For me the Tarot has been an incredible tool of self-discovery and a compass for navigating life's journey. I bought my first deck at eighteen — a simple contemporary set — and over the last twenty years I've built a deep relationship with the Thoth Tarot, a deck that shows you what's actually happening rather than what's comfortable. In my mind, divination is a practice of establishing a dialogue with the greater field of consciousness, and the denizens within.

The philosophy of the human condition contained in the Tarot's design broadens our understanding of our own minds — our thoughts and emotions, in relation to life's trials and tribulations. Sometimes the lessons the cards offer are difficult to comprehend at first, but over time they reveal themselves. People often fear the Tarot, imagining it evil or dangerous — a picture painted by popular media. What they actually discover is a guide and a tutor, willing to offer helpful insight.

Over the last thirty years I've used this dialogue to tackle the outcomes of my own traumatic experiences — dissolving self-sabotage and poor coping strategies, deepening my understanding of myself and my life, making better decisions, tempering my reactions to upset, and building on my successes. That lifelong journey led me through psychology, shamanism and the occult, and eventually through my own deep therapeutic work. It's a dialogue I now wish to share with you — held, supported, and yours to take forward.

FAQs

What actually happens in a reading?

This is not a fortune-telling transaction, it's a held space. You bring whatever's on your mind, I lay the cards, and we read them together. I'll explain what each card means and how it relates to your situation as we go, you're never left guessing what I'm seeing. Alongside the traditional meanings of the cards, I work with strong intuitive abilities, sometimes a strong sense of something, or words and images presenting themselves to me, which shape the form and nature of the reading. By the end you'll have a clear picture of the forces at work in your life and practical areas to focus on and often, a way to act on them.

Who is actually holding the space?

I'm a spiritual practitioner with over thirty years of lived practice, psychology, shamanism and the occult, that underpins the supportive, non-judgemental space of a reading. I'm also a qualified teacher (PGCE) with over fifteen years of experience in learning and support, including safeguarding training and more than a decade of clear enhanced-disclosure (CRB) checks from my teaching career.

I came to this work the long way round: through my own traumatic experiences and the decades I spent using the Tarot to heal from them. That includes finding my own way through Pure OCD, working with an NLP therapist alongside somatic techniques I developed myself, drawing on years of meditation and mantra practice, and nearly three years of work with a postgraduate psychotherapist to face the hardest of it. It took me seven years of that work before I could name what I'd come there to talk about,  I know what it is to sit with something you can't yet put into words, and I won't ask anyone to name theirs before they're ready. The old archetype applies, the wounded healer, the one who has walked through the dark places themselves and now knows the paths. What you're booking isn't a card reading; it's the attention of someone who has done the deep work and knows how to hold the space for yours.

Is the reading online or in person?

Readings are held online, via a private and secure video chat service (Jitsi). I use two cameras, one on the cards, one on me, so you can see the spread clearly as we work through it, and we can still talk face to face. You can be anywhere in the world and in the comfort of your own space.

Do I need to know anything about Tarot beforehand?

Not a thing. You don't need to know the cards, the suits, or any esoteric terminology. My job is to translate what the cards are saying into plain language that speaks to your actual life. If you're curious about the symbolism along the way, I'm always happy to explain, but the reading is for you, not a history lesson.

Which deck do you use?

The Thoth Tarot, a deck I've worked with for over twenty years. It's known for its depth and its refusal to pull punches. It doesn't deal in vague comfort; it shows you what's actually happening, which is exactly what makes it such a powerful tool for self-understanding.

I'm nervous — isn't Tarot dark or dangerous?

No. That fear comes from films and TV, not from the cards themselves. The Tarot is a guide and a tutor, a mirror for your own thoughts, emotions and life circumstances. Nothing in a reading can harm you, and nothing is "summoned." The most confronting thing you'll meet in a reading is your own truth, and that's a good thing.

What if the cards show something difficult?

Then I'll tell you, clearly and kindly, but without sugarcoating. A reading that hides difficulty from you is useless. If there are challenges in the situation, you need to know about them so you can act. And if anything difficult does arise, you will always be offered the opportunity to address it within the reading. Most people find that even the hard messages come as a relief, because it puts a name to what they already sensed.

Can the reading give me something to do, not just something to know?

Often, yes. Where the cards point to a pattern, block or force at play, a prescription can follow: a concrete act, practice or piece of work, tailored to what the reading showed. Sometimes that prescription is explicit, a structure you work with over the following days or weeks; sometimes it's woven quietly into the reading itself, and only reveals itself as such in hindsight. Either way, you don't leave with just an interpretation, you leave with a way to act on it.

Should I bring a question or a specific issue?

It's entirely up to you whether you state explicitly what you'd like help with or not. Some people come with a precise question, a relationship, a decision, a crossroads. Others just feel stuck and want direction. Either works. You don't have to name what's wrong before we begin, the cards have a way of finding the thread regardless of how you hold it.

How should I prepare?

Come somewhere quiet where you won't be interrupted, and give yourself a few minutes beforehand to settle. That's it. No rituals, no rules. You're encouraged to take notes as we go, meanings often unfold over the following days, and having your own record of what came up helps you work with them afterwards.

What happens after the reading?

You won't be left to make sense of it alone. Where an issue came up that would benefit from going deeper, I'll suggest sources of further information so you can continue the work in your own time. And where the reading points to a prescription, you'll have it in hand to begin when you're ready. A reading is a starting point, not a one-off.

Is what I share confidential?

Absolutely. What's said in a reading stays in the reading. Your contact details are held securely through the website hosting in line with GDPR, used only to arrange and communicate about your reading, never shared, and you can ask for them to be deleted at any time.

How much does it cost, and how do I book?

Readings are £55 for one hour. For those who want to go deeper, a fuller spread, more time with what arises, and space for the prescription to be worked through properly, extended readings of an hour and a half are £80. The prescription, where one arises, is part of the reading, not an add on. Fill in your details on the form above and we'll arrange a time that suits you.

If the cost is genuinely a struggle, get in touch anyway, I'm always happy to talk about terms in confidence.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel?

No problem. Let me know at least 24 hours in advance if you'd like to rearrange, or at least 48 hours in advance to cancel, and we'll sort it out.
